Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Do you gotta Momma?
Does your Momma feed ya good chow?
Do you love ya Momma?
Well show Momma ya love her with an amazing Mother's Day gift!

Okay so we all know Mother's Day is coming up this Sunday... or at least you know now! Mother's Day is a great time to show your Mom how much you appreciate everything she's done for you. The only problem is thinking up ideas on HOW to show your appreciation. Anyone can go to the store and buy a card and some little Mother's Day gimmick buuuuuut that takes no effort whatsoever. Your gift should come from the heart, not Walmart (hey that rhymed!). So, to make it a bit easier for you, I have thought up a couple sweet little Mother's Day gift that you can do! Some of these ideas are last minute, some will take longer and require some planning.

I hope that you find at least one idea that Momma will love. :)

1. Personalized Gift Pack
It is so easy to go and buy a gift pack for Mom, but let's be honest, how much is she actually going to use? So by personalizing the pack, you can ensure that she loves everything and it shows that you've put some thought into it! All you have to do is find some sort of container, grab some tissue paper, a bit of cellophane clear wrap, your little gifts, and you are all set! If you are having troubles thinking of what to fill the gift pack with, here are some ideas that Mom may love:

  • her favourite chocolate bar
  • body lotion
  • nail polish
  • planner/notebook
  • sleep mask
  • homemade book mark
  • mug
  • tea/coffee
  • gloves/hat
2. Homemade Jewelry
Let's throw it back to the good old camp days with the colourful string friendship bracelets that we all loved to create. Why should that stop now? Your Mom is a lifelong friend, and that definitely deserves a friendship bracelet. They are so easy to make and completely customizable! All you need to do is go to the dollar store or any craft store of your choice and purchase some of the string. There are tons of different designs you can do. You can take out a book on how to make different designs or look on the internet! If Mom isn't too into the string, you can also make beaded or metal bracelets. Once again, there are lots of tutorials online, just take a browse around and I can almost guarantee you will find one you like.

3. Homemade Coupons
Personally, this is a go to gift for me. First off, it is really easy to create. Second, it is a very thoughtful gift. Lastly, it costs nothing. That one is my favourite reason. All you got to do is either hand make the coupons or find a template online. On my computer, microsoft word comes with really nice coupon templates that are super easy to customize. You can even add in pictures! Here are a couple of ideas for your coupons:

  • Hug/Kiss Coupon
  • Wash the dishes Coupon
  • Take the dogs for a walk Coupon
  • Foot rub Coupon
  • Mani/Pedi Coupon
  • Don't talk to me Coupon
  • Make Dinner Coupon
  • Your Choice Coupon

 4. Birdhouse
Okay, I know what you are thinking, a birdhouse? What? Yes, a homemade birdhouse. I know it sounds complicated but trust me, Mom's love it. And it actually isn't that hard. Of course I had to get assistance from my Dad since I am not the handiest person around, but I promise, it isn't too difficult. All you need to do is 4 walls, a base, and the roof. This is as complicated as you make it out to be. You can have a flat roof, triangular roof, a peg, no peg, once again this is very customizable to your abilities! After you create the birdhouse, you can paint it however you like! And if you do not have the supplies or the trust in yourself to fully build a birdhouse, I know that you can buy pre-made small birdhouses from the dollar store that are completely plain. From there you can paint it and customize it to however you like.

My Homemade Birdhouse. See the birds love it!

And there you have it! I hope you found something you'd like to try! If you have any other Mother's Day Gift Ideas, leave a comment down below for myself and others to see. I'd love to see all your ideas.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!
